Heart Berries
by Terese Marie Mailhot
Technically I started this book about 2 months ago, but nonfiction has been hard for me lately between trainings, life, and work so I had switched over to romance and YA.
Coming back to this book was in part something a client mentioned about it, and in part being American Thanksgiving and wanting to be intentional about reflecting on the Indigenous experience in North America.
This was a really beautifully written memoir. It felt like a series of therapy sessions (hence the reference from a client) and built to a better understanding of what has contributed to where she was and how she is seen by others. 4.5 stars. Maybe 5 stars later. Need to sit on it more.
