Well okay, then. I hate to say it, but this was a pretty stupid Shakespeare play. I knew Macbeth was going to die even before I started reading it. It was pretty weak actually. It reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe's Tell-Tale Heart and Othello . Except, not as good. Macbeth was stupid. He gets this prophecy from these strange witch ladies that he's going to be a king. But because he is not the first in line for the throne, this seems impossible. Soon, though, it goes to his head and he is determined to be king. He kills the current king and because of this is crowned king himself. His wife, urging his through it all, is stupid too. I mean, she must have been a golddigger or something. She just kept telling Macbeth to kill the poor king when she couldn't even do it herself. And then, when things got hard, she didn't even stick it out with him. She's a phony.
But anyway, so I'm kind of disappointed by the whole thing. My consensus still stands: [b:Much Ado About Nothing|12957|Much Ado About Nothing|William Shakespeare|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1308953582s/12957.jpg|2080738] and [b:Othello|12996|Othello|William Shakespeare|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1298414933s/12996.jpg|995103] are the best Shakespeare plays written.
