It's okay, but the cruelty in this duology is something I would only give to seasoned Ella Fields fans or people that were looking for some dark stuff specifically. I found that what these books did bring to the table wasn't drastically different from any of her other books to justify how far off the deep end it went with some of the content (check the TW's).
With any romantacy sequel, there's a first act separation or break up to keep the plot going. While I hate the concept, this one was done in a way that made sense to me. That being said, there isn't a lot of staying power here. I doubt I'll read these again.
