This was so good! Kuang is very good at providing intricate world-building without being overly wordy. Like the first PW book, Kuang is not shy to candidly include some of the atrocities that come with war, so take a cautious approach if violence, gore, and sexual assault and such bother you. I love me some backstory/lore & the introduction of the Ketreyids delivered that perfectly and added a really intriguing layer to the story. I feel like I should have seen the ending coming, and it broke my heart but I recognize why it had to happen. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the series wraps up.
