Oh....where to begin...?
I am head over heels in love with Braden Carmichael! And with the book!
Samantha Young is a great writer. On Dublin Street was the first book by her that I was reading and her debut in Adult Fiction and let me tell you that she blew my mind!
From the characters that I loved without exception (OK I didn't like the Blondes...but who would ?), to the relationship of the main characters and secondary characters, to the emotional stuff Joss and Braden (and Ellie and Adam) were dealing with, to the sex scenes...Oh God! The SEX SCENES!!!!!!!!!
Well you get my point. I loved the book through and through. Joss' voice is very nice and often very funny. The pace of the novel was perfect, never too slow or too fast.
The banter between her and Braden was hylarious. I often found myself holding my stomach, I was laughing so hard!
The city was described in such a way that I totally want to visit Edinburgh (and maybe cross path with a Braden while catching a cab...!)
The Carmichael family and the memories Joss had of her parents were so sweet.
The emotional crisis the characters delt with felt real and authentic.
I could go on and on like this but even then I couldn't describe with words how great this novel was. I was hooked from the first line to the last!
READ THIS BOOK! READ IT NOW! READ IT!....Am I being too bossy here?
