the lgbtqia+ representation in this book is spot on. *chef’s kiss*. and it is just representation. the book doesn’t focus on the sexuality or gender of the characters, it is just a topic that happens to be a part of the story, and what an incredible story it was. it hit all the things i was looking for when researching “pirate lesbian books”. i was only going to rate it 4.5 stars but i realised i couldn’t fault it and would be recommending this to every bookish person i meet.
Moderate: Death
being a book about pirates, expect some triggering scenes, although written well enough that it’s not uncomfortable or too explicit
