The Janus Stone
by Elly Griffiths
I was completely hooked and as always loved all the characters. I enjoyed reading the point of view chapters of the police of officer Judy and I loved the Celtic and Roman mythology bits - they made me want to read more about British history. I liked this even more than the first book of the series since the storyline was less predictable.
Thinking about it, there were a few things that annoyed me. I don't know why Griffiths has decided to make Shona such a one dimensional character (or maybe that's just reflective of Ruth' thoughts). She actually seems quite likeable but she is depicted in a way that makes me think of highscool movies. Would have loved to see a more realistic and deeper female friendship. On top, I'm not a fan of the pregnancy story line at all and I'm not even interested how it will continue. Still, I can't wait to start the next book!
