At its most basic plot, this is about a school shooting and the aftermath. One thing Jodi Picoult always manages to create in her novels is an interconnected cast of characters with the complex mosaic of real life. Sadly school shootings are too often. And the public hears about the perpetrator, a little about the victims, but seldom from the parents or the why. I do not think there is a simple solution to stop them. But this book will definitely make you think of the intricacies of the crimes.
