I might be overly generous in my rating here, but I liked this book A LOT. It is trying very hard to be funny, but the beauty of it is that it works! I actually laughed out loud several times, and snickered and giggled a lot in between. At first, I was concerned that the hijinks would keep me from actually connecting with the characters on an emotional level, but I need not have worried. The both of them really grew on me. Would I appreciate some more depth? For sure. But I am invested in the overarching plot, and I‘m really rooting for these two to find a way forward.
Everybody knows that this story started its life as a Dramione fan fiction - one I‘ve never read, so I can‘t say how it compares. The plot here stands on its own, and I can‘t wait to find out where it all leads. And, of course, I‘m going to have to wait, because this is yet again a duology. With a mild cliffhanger. Well, let it be known that I am VERY seated.
