Hill Women: Finding Family and a Way Forward in the Appalachian Mountains by Cassie Chambers

Did not finish book.
DNF. I thought this was a researched book on the women of Appalachia but it is one woman’s memoir with the tiniest bit of research thrown in. I might have persisted with it except I came to a place where she’s just throwing out her own guesses for why some things are the way they are—like why people get cancer. I’m interested in the research in this area but I’m not interested in one person’s conjecture. Unlike other reviewers, I don’t have a problem with her politics or dislike of Donald Trump. I share those things with her. This just wasn’t what I was expecting or looking for.
