Xo, Ox: A Love Story by Adam Rex

1.0

There are so many terrible messages in this. The first is liking (or not liking) people based solely on stereotypes or physical appearance. Second, Ox is a little too persistent, continuing to write Gazelle even when she asks him not to. Third, Gazelle is horribly mean in her last letter and Ox just glosses over it because he "loves" her. And she magically decides to write him back because he doesn't get turned off by her name-calling. All of these are terrible relationship messages to be teaching children.
