Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

5.0

Thirteen Reasons Why (or TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY) is the debut novel by Jay Asher. It was first published in 2010 and since then It has become one of those books everyone keeps talking about . And that It is how I found out about it, It seemed that every “booktuber” and every “bookblogger” had read It and had loved It, so I tried.
TRW follows a boy called Clay. One day He found a box full of tapes without a return address on his house door. He starts to listen to them and he discovered It was Hannah baker who is talking in the tapes. Hannah was a girl in his school that killed herself and on those tapes is recorded the story that made her do it. There are thirteen tapes each one, tells about one of the reasons why, and each one is about a different person, those persons are the ones that are going to receive the tapes.
TRW was an amazing book, compelling and thrilling sometimes moving sometimes even amusing . It is compelling because It is a whole new idea, because It made you think and feel. It is also thrilling because you find yourself trying to figure out what Clay must have done to receive the tapes. It is moving when she tells you the things that happen to her, but you can find It is amusing especially when she is being sarcastic. Fragments of the tapes can be found online, and if you listen to those fragments while you are reading the experience It is even better. The only bad thing It is that Clay’s life and Hanna’s tapes interrupt each other, I mean you are reading Hanna’s tape and suddenly you read Clay’s thoughts. That makes you feel missed sometimes.
All things considered, I think TRW is a brilliant book. And If I were a teacher I will made my students to read it , because by reading this book they will be aware that all our acts have consequences. I think that If young people will read that book, maybe they will think twice before bully someone.
