Taken by N. Isabelle Blanco, Elena M. Reyes

4.0

As the first installment of the Voyeur series, TAKEN was short but packed one hell of a punch. Ivy and Noah are best friends who have woken up in a strange room only to realize that they've both been drugged and kidnapped. With more questions than answers, they're not left wondering for too long because their captor(s) make it clear that they are toys/pawns/victims of a very sick game. They don't know who took them, why they were chosen, what the captor(s) end game is, or whether or not they will even survive.

This story is chilling, dark and erotic. I liked the play on hidden emotions. It's very clear that Ivy has strong feelings for Noah, which she has forced herself to hid to protect herself, but this intense situation is forcing them to the surface. I also liked how protective Noah was and how it seemed that some of those feelings were reciprocated. I can't wait to see how this story develops.

I'm not a huge fan of cliffhangers but the authors did a great job of sucking me into this story and I for one am anxious to find out the answers to all of my questions and how things will play out for these characters.
