Phantom Pains by Mishell Baker

Did not finish book.
Exchanging plot for cheap mental health clichés, the immediate intensity of this book only manages to accomplish two-dimensional soap opera drama.

Pinned to the hope of previous investment in characters that are, ironically, tossed to the wind within the first chapters, this novel is a waste. I had to make myself read 10 chapters and then couldn't justify the masochism.

Dull, lifeless thrills and backwashed character dynamics, combined with lackluster story development left me completely uninterested.

Rated mature and unnecessary.
