I may have to update this review at a future time. After finishing this second book, I quickly searched for when Book 3 would be released only to find this is a duology. It seems unfinished, and only because of that is it getting 4 stars. If it was the second of three, it would get 5 stars because it's a great middle book leading to what could be an epic conclusion. As a final book, it falls short. There are no resolutions to the conflicts or the relationships in this world. Manu is basically where she started, and so is everyone else. I'm being generous with 4 stars, but I'm really hoping Garber writes a third.
