The Rewind by Allison Winn Scotch

3.0

3.5 maybe a 3.75.

Hate and Love are two sides of the same coin. You can't hate something if there is no Love involved and I feel Frankie and Ezra's story was that. They never hated each other. They loved each other, hurt each other but the undercurrent was love. They just had some communicating to do.

This definitely read more like Literary Fiction novel the a romance (A romance novel is what I wanted, that's on me for not double checking) It reminds me more of Taylor Jenkin Reid or Jill Santapolo.

The end felt a little rushed for me, like the reunion is over like 48 hours so it felt fast but they spent most of the book not wanting to be in the same room together and then in the epilogue going to London to meet his brother. I like that they got together, it just felt jarring.

I didn't love the child loss part, that could have been skipped . I loved the way Frankie connects to music and how it ties into their memories. I liked the overall plot. I liked that infidelity wasn't Mimis downfall because I was waiting for it.

I thought it was pretty good.
