Mistlefoe: A Mead Realm Tale
by Kimberly Lemming
In order to break a curse on her family, Ruby approaches Lucca, the demon who placed the curse. He agrees to break the curse, and additionally give her and her father exclusive access to his mines, if she agrees to act as his mate at a winter festival to help him secure his land. The two have fantastic chemistry, fun banter, and appreciate Alexis, a cursed, foul-mouthed sword, for exactly who (what) she is. I really enjoyed this novella and learning Alexis' backstory (I read That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf prior to this). However, there were a surprising amount of typos scattered throughout the novella and I thought it lacked a formal ending for Ruby/Lucca. That said, it's still a fun part of the series!
