Big Bad Ironclad!: A Civil War Tale by Nathan Hale

4.0

The only things that sounded familiar to me in this book was the Merrimack, Fort Sumter......any of the general events that might be talked about in US History. And that’s why I LOVE this series! It takes American History events that we all read about in school and goes much, much deeper in a very accessible format. I really enjoyed reading about Cushing and his adventures as, essentially, the father of the Navy Seals! It was also very interesting to hear about naval strategies. I’m hoping to read The Art of War soon (weirdly been fascinated about that recently).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone interested in American History that doesn’t want to read highly academic tomes. If you want to read further, every book includes a bibliography for further reading as well as historical pictures/narrative updates.
