“What are you looking for?” is such a weighted question, even when someone just walks into a library. Because the reality is, they’re thinking of so many other things in life that that exact question can apply to.

I’ve only read a handful of Japanese novels before this one, but this one stands apart in the sheer variety of characters and backstories we explore, but all with the same amount of heart.

Happy first read of the year to this book. And if the five star rating is any indication for the rest of the year, it’ll be a good one.
