The Line Becomes a River: Dispatches from the Border by Francisco CantĂș

Wow, this was a lot. Very realistic and truthful accounts from the author's perspective being a border agent, as well as their experiences with the immigration process. I feel a lot of people who would never read this, should have to, to get some insight.
