I'm not a history buff, so stories like this are valuable for me. It's 1775, and Sam is caught in the middle of the Revolutionary War. His settlement is burned as he's out hunting, and his parents are captured. My awareness of this side of the war (the "I didn't even know there was a war going on and yet my home was attacked" side) was nil, so this easy read was healthy for me.
