The Princess Bride by William Goldman

This book is simply hilarious and so much fun. The meta-narrative and all the little asides from the author, plus those from "Morgenstern", had me constantly cracking up. I love a fantasy adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's exactly what this is.

I am admittedly biased—because, though I enjoy the movie, it's never been a particular favorite of mine—but I liked the book a lot more. The book for me just leans into the absurdity super hard in a way that really works for me, and I love how we get to spend a lot of time with each character. I just had so much fun reading the book.

Definitely recommend, whether you're a fan of the movie or not. There's something for everyone to enjoy with this book I think.
