For pace this is slow for the first half but I enjoyed piecing things together, despite finding the narrator to be a bit frustrating. I couldn’t put the book down during the second half, as there were a lot of twists. Some felt a little silly (the Patrick/Ricky name thing felt like a stretch ) but I still enjoyed it. This kept me reading late at night, I was so captured by it. If you’re looking for a slightly melodramatic gothic mystery you’ll probably like this!
