Scarlett Fever by Claire Highton-Stevenson

5.0

5 stars. I loved every moment of this. It’s an age gap, toaster oven romance with a lot of well done and well written spice. Also, no third act break up which I’m always appreciative of. Claudia and Scarlett meet at a gay club and have a one night stand. When Claudia’s daughter comes home to visit she brings her friend who just so happens to be Scarlett.

There’s a lot of sneaking around which would usually lead to a lot of angst and big drama but nope. This book wasn’t like that because both characters were so mature and honest with each other. Claudia was nervous about coming out to her children and Scarlett was patient and understanding which was so lovely. I loved them both as individuals and thought they were perfect together. Great chemistry and such a wonderful romance between them. I also really liked the side characters of Claudia’s kids and her best friend. This was my first book by this author but I will definitely be picking up more because the was fantastic.
