I read Powerless not that long ago and the main characters read very similarly. The writing style also bugged me, felt like the author tried to cram in a lot in every sentence at once sometimes. There were several grammatical mistakes, including an obvious one in the first chapter. Neither the characters nor the world really held my attention, though I will say it feels more original than not.

Moreover the book feels REALLY long to be a fantasy romance, and I don’t want to wait over 600 pages for it to improve.

Nothing against the author but the cover also looks a little goofy 😭😭 I could not take that seriously.
