A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
by George R.R. Martin
These tales are wonderful with a classic feel and occasional nods towards the grittier reality of Martin's Westeros setting. So you see Ser Dunk, the good man who had a bad start in life, nobly adventuring in the company of his squire, the quick-witted incognito-princeling Egg, and then maybe there's some heads on spikes or a couple pages of brutal fighting to the death, or a passing reference to a blood-soaked sea battle with Ironmen. These characters are such a contrast to the rest of the setting of A Song of Ice & Fire. I can't help but tip them that 5th star.
