Immensely satisfying fantasy about a trio of women burning down the patriarchal systems in their town. The setup & the way the three witches come into their power was very well-crafted. The book lagged a bi at the two-thirds mark as the story shifts to uncovering a wider conspiracy, but pulls no punches at the end. The author very cleverly pulled in the lose threads of some supporting characters whose backgrounds and motives became suddenly part of the main action.
Though the author clearly warns us about “the most dangerous enemies,” it was still a terrible blow to meet them in the story.
