I knew going in this would be a rough ride. I had tried to read it when I was in middle school and on my first trip through Middle Earth. Obviously it was way beyond me at the time. As it is, there isn't enough narrative to keep me fully hooked, but the scholarly/theological world building should serve to make my next read-through of the other books a much richer experience. Glad I soldiered through.
