I liked this book a lot. It is a young woman's coming-of-age story set generations after the zombie apocalypse. Unlike World War Z or the Zombie Survival Guide, the style of this book is lyrical and sad, rather than tongue-in-cheek.
I liked that the protagonist wasn't a helpless damsel-in-distress, but she wasn't a superpowered Amazon woman either.
Although this book contains a romantic subplot, the heroine's entire existence isn't focused around the man she's in love with. She has other hopes and dreams aside from just "getting the guy."
