Eldmoor by J.P Feather

5.0

2024 is my year of stepping out of my comfort reads and dabbling more into other genres. I've been wanting to read more fantasy and found Eldmoor. I'm not a huge fan of dystopian settings, but the blurb and hearing how it was a mashup of Hunger Games was enough to get me to read it LOL.

Going into it, it was a relatively quick read, I read it in a few hours and really appreciated JP's way of world-building. The characters and storyline came alive with vivid imagery, strategic plots and dragons of course. I will say I really liked that there was background history to the characters and Clara in particular really grew on me. For the first book in the series, it held my attention from beginning to end and that cliffhanger, although very quickly ended the book, will be a reason I continue this series! I highly recommend for those wanting to read more fantasy books!
