The Fishermen by C.P. Harris
4.0
Franky & Leland
I have been excited for this installment since finishing The Good Liar many months ago. It didn’t disappoint.
In true C. P. Harris fashion we are built up along with our characters before plummeting to the ground. We then have to army crawl over broken glass before making the painstaking climb the mountain to the daisy’s at the top. We know a bit of what’s going to happen (if you have read The Good Liar, highly recommended) but we don’t know what’s in between or what comes after.
I felt for both MCs in this story at different times. At one point I BEGGED Leland to walk away and have some respect for himself, but he wanted what he wanted. They both nosedive into separate spirals of depression or numbness, but somehow Leland still ends up chained to the Kincaid family.
Their story of healing was beautiful. All parties put in a lot of work to make this HEA happen.
