The story is masterfully written, it‘s not just 95% build up and 5% showdown, it builds up steadily from page one and with each page you turn it becomes harder to put it down, the plot deepens, there are twists and turns I did not foresee (right until the end) and it gains in depth in such a meaningful way that you get more and more invested in not only the story, but also the characters and the very real history touched on in the book. The story itself is a fantasy story of friendship, empowerment and magic, and self-discovery, but all as part of a much wider and broader context. I loved the evolution of the story, and although there is a small cliff-hanger at the end it‘s not too bad. I will wait with reading book 2 though until book 3 is out, and then I‘ll get all three of them in print as well.
