This book would've been a nice read if it didn't claim to be a sequel to Gone with the wind. I honestly feel that the only thing this novel has in common with the original is the name of some characters.
I had a good time reading it, but I also feel disappointed after reading 900 pages of something that lost the essence of the original novel.
I'd personally call this a gone-with-the-wind-inspired novel, not a sequel.
