Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

1.0

Finally completed this worthless piece of shit. I got so frustrated. Not the good kind of frustration where you get exasperated about the plot because of the way things turn out but the worst kind of annoyance when you remember you have to get through the rest of the book.

Katniss is the WORST ever protagonist I've ever seen. She had no character much less a character development and they've completely side lined the good characters that could've given such good character arcs like Finnick, Snow, Haymitch, Coin, Gale, Peeta etc.

The whole attention was on Katniss who's good for nothing, has immense head weight, does things without reason, is mentally unstable, is purely selfish without any reason, outright defies every rule but does no good in defying them, doesn't save anyone, doesn't understand anything, is good at nothing other than making things worse and has a hell lot of mood swings.

At best she two timed two guys and then got angry with both of them for pointing it out. Then one disappeared from the face of earth and she married the other just because he was nearby.

There's no explanation whatsoever of the character of Snow.
No explanation of Coin's stupid plan in the end. No explanation on why she wasn't executed for killing the president. No explanation on why the hell she said yes for the hunger games to be conducted again.

The only thing that decently bothered me was leaving Finnick to have an insignificant death at an insignificant moment. They didn't even mourn him and he had a baby coming. That kinda broke my heart. A little bit. A too-little bit.

In one word, TRASH.
