Pretty much the exact same as the film with just a little more info on certain events but strangely less info on important events. For example, I found that the most horrible and shocking scene in the film was when

Solomon had to whip Patsey but here in the novel that whole incident is only about a page long and isn't really significant

. I enjoyed this about as much as one can enjoy brutal and harrowing account of a free man being sold into slavery.
