Did not finish book. Stopped at 48%.

This book and I started out friends, but around the author's fifth use of the word "females" it stopped gelling with me. That aspect of the style in particular really isn't my cup of tea. There were some nice elements to this, particularly around the cartography and the setting, but ultimately I just didn't care enough to keep going with it.
