rowanthorn 's review for:
Finale
by Becca Fitzpatrick
I don't really believe in "guilty pleasure" books, because if you enjoy it, READ IT, enough said. But, if there WERE such a thing...... this series is it.
This is the finale (hehe get it) to the four book Hush Hush series - a series which is cheesy, frustrating, romantic, filled with some annoyingly obnoxious characters, and is So. Freaking. Addictive.
I finished Finale in a day and a half, and it's the just as "hate-to-love" as the others. I can hardly describe my feelings towards it: do I like it? do I want to throw it out the window? do I want to talk/yell/scream about it for days on end? All of the above?

It has to be said: overall, it was a pretty satisfying end to the series, even though the series as a whole meandered like crazy and I lost track of half the plotlines.
Here's a recap of the series:
Book 1:
Book 2:
Book 3:
Which brings us to Finale, the final book, where our protagonist Nora has finally (say it louder for the poeple in the back - FINALLY) regained her memories after losing them for a long book 3, and also finds herself the leader of the Nephilim army, something she is not at all qualified for. But hey. Do you.
Here's Nora throughout the book:

(To be honest, that was me throughout the book, too.)
The plot involves much of the same as all the other books, but at least Nora keeps her memories this time - not that it does much to improve her decision making skills. Oh Nora, my sweet summer child.
Here's a recap of Nora vs. The Reader, aka Me

Overall, Nora's super-questionable actions and raging jealously issues aside, this book is fun. It is. I enjoyed the book (as I did all the others). There was some really good writing, fast paced scenes, and Patch was there to save the day, Nora, and book itself. Sometimes all you need is a book just like this.
