The Watsons by Joan Aiken, Jane Austen

2.0

I was really in for an Austen read, but I knew I'll be dissapointed with this one for it's so short.
I liked her other books better, but this has nothing to do with the fact I don't know its ending. Maybe because her wittyness and irony isn't so vivid here as in all her other books I've read.

I just loooved how subtle Austen is with Elizabeth's interest in Tom Musgrave. She really wasn't into him at all.. actually, her heart was the only one Tom didn't brokenot.
Her obsession with him is so obvious that I was shocked that the person that continued the book still went on about her first love, Purvis.. at least that's what I understood from her PS at the end of the book since I don't need a sequel to be interested in Austen's writing (this seems to be the reason there were sequels to the book: to attract Austen fans to read the book) so I haven't read Merryn Williams' part of the book.
