Black and Green by C.L. Stone

5.0

Once again, CL Stone has created another novel with Sang and her boys that blows my mind. So many authors attempt to create a plot that continues on to so many novels in one series but many fail because they can't keep things interesting. Not true for this one. This is one of my favorite series of all times and somehow every book involves the characters in new and interesting situations that keep me on the edge of my seat.

What I really love about the series at this point in time is how the relationships are evolving. There has been a continuous and slow build up from the very first book that has had me wanting more. And here I am reading Black and Green and finally seeing the development of the relationships moving a little faster. Don't get me wrong, it isn't that I don't like how things are progressing, instead it was the fact that it seemed to be progressing so slowly but it was definitely worth the wait.

Something that really intrigued me in this novel that changes things up a little bit compared to the rest of the series was the point of view. Instead of the book being wholly from Sang's perspective, there are chapters from Sean's (Dr. Green's), Kota's, and a couple of the other guys. Usually I'm not a fan of the shifting perspectives because it can get confusing but it was done so well that I fell in love with even more with these characters. In other books it was kind of hard to guess what everyone was feeling because Sang's depiction of the boys was the only basis to go off of. Yet in this newest novel by CL Stone, the boys had a lot more voice and I LOVED IT!

So if you are a fan of the series don't be scared to buy and DEVUOR this novel! It has kept up with what the series has promised and added so much more than what was expected. Just when things seem to be getting easier, there has to be something (or someone) that stirs the pot and throws the group out of whack. So go and buy this book (and/or the series) and enjoy the magical world of Sang and her Academy boys.
