I really enjoyed this book a lot. The set up was so eerie and I just loved the overall concept and the way the story was told. Flipping between past and present and building up the tension as you know more and more is going to happen. I grew very attached to the characters by the end, which doesn’t happen to me in horror very much.
That all being said, I know it’s a staple in horror to not always get all of the answers in the end but I still felt like something was missing - mainly more about what was in the walls to begin with, and the fog. I liked the tie in with a rational explanation with the cloth versus the clear supernatural happenings, but I found myself having too many unanswered questions in the end. That being said, it was refreshing that it ended on a positive note with everyone living! I wasn’t expecting that.
I’m so excited to read more by this author.
