Let me start out by saying that Sci Fi isn't my thing, but while this book has plenty of sci fi (it is set in the future and has plenty of tech-y things), it isn't overpowering and doesn't take away from the experience.
It is amazingly prescient for Sci Fi (note it was published in 2019 - this will be significant when you read it) in ways that should give some of us pause.
It nicely ties up all the loose ends (one of my pet peeves about stories is when things are left unsaid or unfinished) and isn't a pat ending.
Having living in Japan, those parts were very enjoyable for me.
Also a note for those who avoid Amazon - Audible gives you one book a month free!
Though as the author is my friend I would encourage you to buy it.
