The Goddess Inheritance by Aimée Carter

*Spoilers ahead if you haven't read the first two books*

Well, I finished the series and I still don't know what exactly I think of it. As with the other books in this series, some parts had me quickly flipping the pages while I found myself skimming other areas. I didn't think Kate was anywhere near as frantic as a normal mother would be when Milo was taken from her. She didn't fight all that hard to get him back. And then she basically just gives up fighting near the end. WTF? Who does that when their child and husband's lives are in danger? Those stupid character flaws aside, I can't really pinpoint exactly what my issues are with the series. Maybe it's how strangely the romance developed between Kate and Henry. Maybe it's the way everybody seems to be in love with Kate, even though she's not that different from your average person. Maybe it's how I felt like there was a sexual connection between Kate and James, and how she says she's not into him, but "jokingly" promises him that he'll be her first affair (oh and the fact that they have the same dad and still joke about that. Bleck) All I can say is that I wasn't all that impressed with it, but I think I would have liked it better if I would have read it a few years ago.
