Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

5.0

I had this book on my wish list for months, when I finally found it at a consignment shop I geek-ed out. The first book I read from Stephen King was The Shining and I've been buying his books ever since.

Having a 7 month old I was completely disturbed by the whole "Canny" scene. Why would he leave a child like that? I thought about that a lot throughout the book and wasn't sure if I was going to like Dan. When Dan FINALLY decided to say something about it, I also felt relief.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Abra and Dan. I was fascinated with the changing worlds or "switching places". I believe if King wanted to he could write another book based solely on Abra. (Maybe she chases down the rest of the True Knot!?)

Rose and the True Knot had some interesting characters. With each character having their own special talent, it was easy to understand why they were able to do what they did. Every time I pictured Rose, I saw Cher ha (you know, tall, dark hair and looks good in a top hat).

I am going to go ahead and put this on my list of favorites.

Would I read another book by this author? Hell yes.
