Adventure Time Vol. 4 by Braden Lamb, Ryan North, Shelli Paroline

5.0

I waited until this volume to post my review. I love Adventure Time, like a lot, maybe too much. But I generally don't enjoy reading additional material related to a show when it is not it's primary source. For example, I've never been a huge fan of The Simpsons' comics. I think they have a lot of fans, and perhaps I should give them a shot, but my earlier experiences with them were not memorable. Anyway, I decided to take a chance on the first volume of the Adventure Time series because the first issue was genuinely great. Not only did it contribute to the show, it was also very interesting on its own. A few months later, I had volumes three and four in my hands (volume two was sold out, much to my chagrin), and it was incredible. Each volume seems to add a different twist to the comic book genre while also providing incredibly touching, funny, and entertaining stories that fit with the AT universe. While I was reading it, I could hear each character's voice, and they were non-stop page-turners. This is MUST read for fans of the show, but also for children since it offers a lot of learning opportunities without being patronizing, and it is also great for adults since some jokes will fly past children's radars. Besides, AT seems to have a great deal of adult fans, right? Right?!?
