This was an absolutely brilliant read. I was engrossed the entire way through and stayed up late wanting to find out more. I could definitely tell that it was based on Beauty and the Beast. However, that didn't bother me as Marillier changed enough elements to produce a different and interesting take on the story.

Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a beautifully written historical fantasy romance novel.
