I love Pepper Basham's style of writing--both humorous and witty, life always wrapped in God's grace and redemption. This series is so. much. fun! The mysteries are reminiscent of Grace's beloved mystery fiction and are actually fun to try and solve along with Lord and Lady Astley.
There are only two things I don't love about this series.
1. The physical side of their relationship is more detailed than I would recommend to others.
2.Their mindset when it comes to their family. For example, "Was it possible to enjoy these adventures with her for as long as they could before their family began to grow?" While I know this quote was referring to Grace becoming pregnant, it still frustrated me because they already have two daughters! While I appreciate Pepper Basham's inclusion of their two daughters used to show Grace's large heart and love, they seem nothing more than an afterthought included in the series, and just causes Lord and Lady Astley to look naive and irresponsible when it comes to raising children and actually providing them with a stable home. How can they be the family the girls need when they are traipsing off in search of mysteries to solve?
Both however, are personal preferences and will most likely not affect others' enjoyment of the book.
