Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater
5.0

Maggie Stiefvater stays true to her writing style as we begin a new journey with our favourite dreamer, Ronan Lynch.

This book was everything I wanted and even more. It had content that I never even knew I wanted. I have a lot to say because I’m very passionate about this book/series.

Let’s start with the very beginning. I do recommend reading the Raven Cycle first. It gets you familiar with Maggie’s writing style as well as an introduction to who Ronan Lynch really is.

Ronan Lynch is a badass. But more often than he’d probably like to admit, he is the biggest softy there is. We get to see Ronan in a different light. We are graced with more Pynch content. We get a sprinkle of Blue and Gansey and most surprisingly we get a lot of Declan. Now I never found any interest in Declan before, but I think that’s what’s so great about how Maggie portrays the Lynch bothers. I wanted to read more about them equally. I want to read about Declan, just as much as I want to read about Ronan. Mathew is often described as irresistibly loveable, like a puppy and that’s exactly how you end up feeling about him.

In this book, Ronan is faced with several obstacles. We follow the Lynch brothers as their lives change with new discoveries. The introduction of several new characters, including a new dreamer, drive the plot. I found myself fascinated at every point. I was intrigued by the action, I was intrigued by the more intimate moments and most of all that ending had me in the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to continue reading.
