The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
4.0

I have fond memories of riding the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland, yet never once read the source material of which inspired it. I was worried it would be difficult to read with it being written in 1908, but I was pleasantly surprised. I found the prose flowing and whimsical. It was delightfully fun. I enjoyed the use of anthropomorphic characters to explore human emotions (such as fear, nostalgia, awe, and wanderlust), while also commenting on class and society during the time which the story was written. Though classified as a "children's novel" it is very much a book that adults can enjoy as well.
