This book definitely lived up to how much hype it got and did NOT disappoint.
Vanja is a very relatable character when it comes to her deciding that she wants to be in control of her future. How she played the underdog for so long until she could not take it anymore, deciding to take things into her own hands. Which only got her in deeper shit lol.🤣
It did not surprise me she would, unbeknownst to Vanja, come to steal from a low-God only to have a curse thrust upon her. So now on top of her saving up a fund to escape her godmothers, Vanja has until the full moon to break thus curse or become the greed she consumes. I will admit her sprouting rubies, pearls and others randomly on/in her body did turn my stomach and make me gag.
Ragne is one of my favorite characters who I ADORE and hold dear to my heart (the daughter of the Low-God who cursed Vanja & is to shadow her progress). She, of course has the amazing ability to shapeshift, is funny and overall a loveable character.
Emeric's character slowly grew on me, giving me Percy Weasley vibes, and I'm happy his character evolved from that path. Him and Vanja warm my heart so much and the ending!!!!! OMG🤍🤍🤍
Overall, this was FANTASTIC suspenseful adventure and I cannot wait to read its sequel
Those last 2 line:
"So, I will tell you: My name is Vanja.
And this is the story of how I am caught."
1. makes me want to happy cry
2. I want someone to write me a love letter dang it!!! (page 445)
ALL THE STARS!!!!!!😘😘😘
