Trans Girl Suicide Museum by Hannah Baer

dark emotional hopeful medium-paced

4.5

Really liked this book, found the vision of the bathhouse really inspiring and also found a lot of the fashion and style bits to be quite insightful. Loved the talk about trying to relate to normies, found that very relevant to my experiences in the workplace. Did find the amount of ketamine usage to be a bit extreme and like it was a bit unclear how much of that the author still agreed with her romanticization in hindsight. And I loved the discussion of public and private symbols and it really made me reflect on needing to explain more of my relationships with private symbols rather than public ones in order to communicate what and why the relationships matter to me to others, which is something I often struggle with.
